Titherleigh came about because some of the members of the Liphook and District MRC where looking for a new project to fill their Friday evening Club meetings. What inspired us was a Railway Modeller Plan of the Month from April 1979, ‘ A Southern Branch Line’.

Originally drawn for N gauge, we took a mirror image of the plan and adapted it for OO, adding a passenger bay platform for additional operating interest.

Where possible we have made use of baseboards and items salvaged from previous projects, although for reliability the track work and electrical systems were all new.

Titherleigh is presented as a typical Southern Railway branch terminus somewhere in Devon. Stock is owned by the members of the Club and is mostly ready-to-run from the likes of Bachmann and Hornby, although a couple of the members do like building their own locomotives and stock from kits and these can sometimes be seen on the layout.
