An N-gauge BR Western Region layout set in the 1960’s
A busy Western Region junction station set in the 1960’s transition era with the new diesel hydraulics appearing alongside the declining steam classes.
Layout is set in a fictional location betwixt Oxford and Banbury. The photographic back-scene was taken in the County and the scenics were carefully developed to ensure viewers feel they are watching the trains pass through the Oxfordshire countryside on a fine summer’s day.
A procession of express passenger and long freight trains feature professionally weathered rolling stock. The branch and good yard will see more sedate activity.
Prototypical railway infrastructure and buildings are mostly scratch-built and based on actual locations.
The story of the layouts development has been featured on RM Web Layout Forum and in BRM Magazine June 2017.
