The layout was bought second-hand and represents a 15″ narrow gauge layout with an industrial setting. The gauge is known as O9.
It is set in the North-West of England c.1952 serving an engineering company, founded during 1893. In 1896 the railway was built to replace horse-drawn carts, and the two steam trams purchased still see occasional use to this day. The company is still owned and run by the Postlethwaite family.
All of the rolling stock is Black Dog Mining Co. products, with the locos a mixture of Black Dog and Avalon Line kits, using mostly Farish ‘N’ gauge chassis. Figures come from the Phoenix range.
