Welcome to Virtual FebEx 2021

A message from the Chairman of Alton Model Railway Group – Mike Stent

“Last year was one of our most successful exhibitions ever thanks to the support we received from you, the public and also, in no small measure, to the hard work put in by the Exhibition committee and Club members. We were looking forward to another good exhibition this year but then COVID reared its ugly head and as the year wore on, it became increasingly likely that we would have to do the unthinkable and cancel the exhibition. This we did, although as things turned out, if we had not cancelled, the decision would have been made for us. So, we decided to do what a lot of our fellow Model Railway Clubs have done and stage an online exhibition

As you are reading this, you have obviously decided to have a look at what you would have seen if the exhibition had been staged. I hope you like what you see, and I’m pleased to say that the majority of the exhibitors that you are seeing here have agreed to attend our FebEx 2022. That is assuming that the vaccine is doing its job and the health situation has improved to the point where we will be allowed to put on an exhibition next year.

On the plus side, it seems as if sales of model railway equipment have seen quite a surge this last year, so this this should lead to more new and unseen layouts becoming available for Exhibitions; so, watch this space!

I wish you all and your families a Happy and Healthy New Year and hope to see you in 2022.”
